Cholla Blooms Cholla cactus is rare around Magdalena, New Mexico, these days. Hopefully they will make a comeback with rain. They are so beautiful when they bloom for a few weeks. There are yellow blooms, but the magenta is most prevalent in Jo's hometown area. These were painted from photo references in the summer of 2008. Pastel Board with Colourfix Primer, 11 x 14 inches.
